Richard Jefferson Jokes About LeBron James' Influence on Cavs Exit for Dwyane Wade in Funny Video
Richard Jefferson jokingly called out LeBron James regarding his exit from the Cleveland Cavaliers following the team's addition of Dwyane Wade in 2017.
When discussing the end of his Cavaliers tenure with former teammate J.R. Smith on The Richard Show, Jefferson playfully described his exit as "when Bron waived me" (12:52 mark).
"Look, it was between one of his favorite teammates and one of his best friends," Jefferson explained. "When D Wade got bought out and he came, I'm looking around like, 'There's a roster problem here.' They're like, 'Yeah Richard, we know.'"

The Cavs signed Wade in Sept. 2017, reuniting him with James after the duo won two championships together during their shared time on the Miami Heat from 2010-14.
Cleveland had 16 players with guaranteed deals on its roster as a result of the move, one more than the NBA maximum.
To help make room, the Cavs traded Jefferson and guard Kay Felder to the Atlanta Hawks in Oct. 2017 before both players were later waived.
Jefferson, who won a title with James in Cleveland during the 2015-16 season, played one year on the Denver Nuggets after his Cavs stint before retiring in 2018.
James and Wade weren't able to replicate their success from Miami in Cleveland, as the latter star played just 46 games before he was traded back to the Heat.
