Jalen Brunson Drops Epic Quote on Critics at Knicks' NBA Title Parade in Trending Video
After New York Knicks star point guard Jalen Brunson led his team to the 2026 NBA championship and won NBA Finals MVP, many have been waiting for him to respond to his haters.
However, Brunson made it clear at Thursday's championship parade that the critics aren't worth his time.
"There's a lot of people that have a lot of negative stuff to say. There's a lot of people who have a lot of opinions," Brunson said. "But when you prove them wrong, you don't have to say s--t to them. They don't deserve it."

Brunson has faced detractors throughout his life, but he's proven them wrong every step of the way. He led Villanova to two NCAA national championships and earned National Player of the Year honors in his final collegiate season. After being viewed as a role player early in his NBA career, he blossomed into an All-Star during his time with the Knicks, and now he's an NBA champion.
The most common critique of Brunson was his size, which was the basis of Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon's argument that the Knicks didn't have "a 1A dude." Throughout the 2026 playoffs, Brunson embodied the mantra, heart over height, and he capped things off with a 45-point performance against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to secure New York's first NBA championship since 1973.
While Brunson won't pay his haters any mind, Knicks guard Mikal Bridges revealed during his Instagram Live celebration that the 29-year-old was "fueled" by the comments from Hammon and other critics. (Warning: NSFW language.)
In the end, the last laugh belongs to Brunson and the Knicks, and they will keep the championship celebration going all summer before gearing up to chase another title next season.
