Latest NBA Draft Rumors Uncover Brayden Burries' 'Preferred Landing Spots' amid Mavs, Warriors Links
Arizona guard Brayden Burries is one of the most intriguing prospects in the talented 2026 NBA draft class, but it sounds like he already has some desired destinations in mind.
According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, league sources said that Burries "has declined workouts with select teams in the top 10, including the Sacramento Kings (No. 7)." Slater added that there is "a belief that the Dallas Mavericks, selecting at No. 9, are one of his preferred landing spots."
B/R's Jonathan Wasserman predicted in his latest mock draft that the Mavs would select Burries with the No. 9 pick, which would pair him with 2026 NBA Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg. Wasserman highlighted Burries' "downhill attacking, shotmaking, strong defensive tools and knack for scoring without needing heavy usage" as the traits that make him one of the top prospects in this year's class.
However, Slater noted that Burries "appears to know there's at least a chance he might slip" out of the top 10. The Golden State Warriors own the No. 11 pick and were named as "an intriguing backstop" for the 20-year-old. Slater added that team sources said Burries is scheduled to work out for the Warriors in San Francisco on Thursday.
Burries could be a steal as a late-lottery selection in this year's draft, and it seems like he's doing his part to dictate where he lands when the first round begins on Tuesday.
