It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to see teams like the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder near the top.
The Spurs had a magical turnaround in 2025-26 and fell just shy of winning it all. San Antonio was arguably ahead of schedule last season, and with Victor Wembanyama and the rest of the young core only getting better, the Spurs will be tough to beat next year.
The Thunder may have failed to go back-to-back last season, but the still-young group is going to be fired up in 2026-27 as they look to get back to the top of the NBA world. As long as they're healthy, it wouldn't be a shock to see them return as champions.
Of course, you can't forget about the 2026 champion New York Knicks. Winning back-to-back championships is never easy, but the Jalen Brunson-led squad should be back in the mix again next year.
The Miami Heat's odds got a major boost after they landed Giannis Antetokounmpo on Monday, but they've still got some work to do to become a favorite.
While fans have a good idea of how their team will look in 2026-27, there are still plenty of changes that could happen between now and the postseason. Free agency will surely impact title odds, as will the trade deadline.
