Anunoby joined Skechers last year and became the first NBA player to win a championship while wearing their shoes. During the Knicks' Finals run, he wore a handful of Players Edition Skechers, including an 'NYC Blue' PEย in Game 4.
"Skechers has been an exceptional partner on this journey," Anunoby said. "I feel like I'm part of the family after only a year together. They truly put care into building footwear that meets my needs. They know I often switch things up mid-game, so having a consistent flow of options helps keep me comfortable and confident on the court. Most meaningful was the 'NYC Blue' PE I wore during Game 4 that was a nod to the City, my team, and most importantly, the best fans anyone could ask for."
Skechers is relatively new to the basketball world, but it has started to assemble quite the roster. Along with Anunoby, the brand has NBA players like Isaiah Hartenstein, Joel Embiid, Julius Randle, Norman Powell, Terance Mann, Jabari Walker, and Josh Green on its team, along with WNBA players Rickea Jackson, Kiki Iriafen and Jackie Young.
Anunoby put together a tremendous postseason, averaging 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per game in the playoffs. He had one of the most memorable moments in Finals history when he scored a game-winning putback to help the Knicks take a 3-1 lead over the Spurs.
Skechers is hoping to compete with Nike, Adidas and Jordan, and having an NBA champion like Anunoby on their team should help.
