New NBA Rumors on Darryn Peterson Medical Concerns amid Wizards, Jazz Buzz Ahead of 2026 Draft
Kansas guard Darryn Peterson's medical concerns reportedly are a thing of the past.
ESPN's Jeremy Woo released his latest mock draft on Monday and predicted that Peterson would be selected No. 2 overall by the Utah Jazz. Woo reported, "Sources say Peterson's medicals have not raised major concerns with teams, clearing the way for him to hear his name called as a top-two pick."
Peterson showed flashes of brilliance throughout his freshman season with the Jayhawks, but he checked out of multiple games due to cramping and various injuries. However, it sounds like his ailments are behind him.

Peterson Only Visiting Wizards

Report: Celtics, Heat in Mix for Giannis
While being the No. 2 pick is a major honor, Peterson appears to have his eyes set on the No. 1 selection. Woo and ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Monday that the 19-year-old has only visited with the Washington Wizards and won't grant the Jazz or anyone else a meeting before the NBA draft next week.
B/R's Jonathan Wasserman also predicted in his mock draft that Peterson would land in Utah, so the youngster could have no choice but to get used to the idea of starting his NBA career with the Jazz.
