'Job's Finished,' Vanessa Bryant Congratulates Jalen Brunson in IG Photo After Knicks Win NBA Title
Vanessa Bryant congratulated New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson for winning the NBA title on Saturday night, writing "Job's finished" in an Instagram post.
The late Kobe Bryant was known for saying "The job's not finished" after a reporter asked the Los Angeles Lakers icon why he wasn't smiling after taking a 2-0 lead in the 2009 NBA Finals.
Brunson, 29, went off in Game 5's 94-90 win, scoring 45 points to go along with three rebounds, three assists and two steals. He averaged 32.6 points and 4.6 assists during the NBA Finals, shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three.
"I love (Patrick Ewing), and I hope he doesn't kill me... he's bigger than me, but we're both old and slow, but Jalen Brunson is HIM when it comes to New York basketball," head coach Mike Brown told reporters following Saturday's triumph. "He is freaking HIM."
When you help end a 53-year title drought, such praise is warranted.
