NHL's Blackhawks React to Jalen Brunson's 2015 Tweet About Wanting a Jersey
It took winning an NBA championship, but Jalen Brunson is finally going to get that Chicago Blackhawks jersey he wanted.
After Brunson led the New York Knicks to the title on Saturday, the Blackhawks responded to a 2015 tweet that said "Lowkey want to get a Blackhawks jersey."
Brunson has plenty of connection to the Chicago area.
His father, Rick, played for the Chicago Bulls and was then an assistant coach for the team. Jalen also played high school basketball just outside the city in Illinois and married his wife, Ali Marks, at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago in 2023.
Brunson's 2015 tweet came the same year the Blackhawks won their third Stanley Cup in six years, although they have not won a playoff series since.
Perhaps finally getting the Knicks point guard his jersey will change their fortune.
