Brunson earned Finals MVP honors after he ended the game with 45 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 41 minutes on the floor. He shot 14-of-27 from the field and 4-of-7 from behind the arc.

New York's series-clinching victory wasn't easy, as the team trailed by 16 points in the first half of the game and faced a 10-point deficit early in the fourth quarter.

Still, the Knicks were able to climb back and secure the win largely due to Brunson's 15 points in the fourth.

He delivered several clutch buckets, including a go-ahead floater with the score tied and just over one minute remaining in the game.

Brunson ended the series averaging 32.6 points, 4.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from behind the arc.

The three-time All-Star was stellar throughout New York's postseason run, as his average of 28.4 points per game in the playoffs was the highest among all NBA players.

Brunson was also named Eastern Conference Finals MVP after the Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Now, he's an NBA champion after helping lead New York to its first title since 1973.
