Larry David Discusses Viral Video of Reaction to Josh Hart's Missed Dunk in Knicks' Game 4 Win
Comedian Larry David detailed his viral reaction to New York Knicks guard Josh Hart's missed dunk late in the team's 107-106 win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals.
"How did he miss that? Oh my god, and now it's over," David said during a Friday appearance on the Rich Eisen Show (1:59 mark). "I just thought it's over. If you miss that, you can't recover from that. We're done, we're done. So it was devastating, I was devastated."
After the Knicks trailed by 29 points in the second half of the game, they pulled to within one point as two minutes remained in the fourth quarter. Hart eventually stole a pass from Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox and had a clear path to the rim, but couldn't complete the wide-open dunk in transition.
David, who was at the game, went viral for his disappointed reaction to the play.
The Knicks still emerged victorious, as OG Anunoby tipped an offensive rebound into the basket to give his team a one-point lead with roughly one second left in the fourth quarter.
New York held on for the win, completing the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.
Hart thanked Anunoby for saving him from a "a lifetime of regret" when speaking to reporters after the contest.
The Knicks took a 3-1 series lead with the win and will now look to close out the NBA Finals in Game 5 on Saturday.
