Knicks' OG Anunoby Honored by Manhattan Borough President After Historic NBA Finals Win vs. Spurs

New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby received a unique honor following his last-second bucket to help the team complete a historic comeback win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals.

Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal proclaimed that June 11, 2026 will be known as "OG Anunoby Day" in the borough, via Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.

With the Knicks trailing by one point and just under six seconds left in the fourth quarter of Game 4 on Wednesday, star point guard Jalen Brunson missed a deep three-pointer before Anunoby tipped the rebound into the basket to put his team in front.

The Knicks set a new record for the largest comeback in NBA Finals history following the win, as they trailed by 29 points in the third quarter of the contest.

Anunoby discussed New York's mindset during the game.

"We know it's a game of runs," Anunoby said, per ESPN's Vincent Goodwill. "We're a resilient group. We've been through a lot. We've come back plenty of times when we're behind. Just staying with it, weathering the storm, not being too down or angry or frustrated. Just staying with it, cut down to 18, cut it down to six, push it through. It's a 48-minute game, just play 'til the end."

The 28-year-old scored 33 points in the win, setting a new career-high mark for the playoffs. Anunoby also shot 10-of-15 from the field and 7-of-9 from three-point territory.

New York now holds a 3-1 series lead over San Antonio.
