Andrew PetersJun 9, 2026

Jeremy Lin played less than half a season with the New York Knicks before departing for the Houston Rockets, but he said that it wouldn't have taken much for him to stay in New York.

On Pablo Torre Finds Out, Lin said that his "heart was always" in New York.

"I would've played for significantly less if that meant staying with the Knicks. Significantly less," he said (28-minute mark). "Because my heart was always here."

Lin garnered attention across the league during his "Linsanity" run in New York, which led to a lofty three-year, $25 million offer from Houston that the Knicks were unwilling to match.

Lin spent two seasons with the Rockets before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. From there, he bounced around to a few different teams, but never found his way back to the Knicks.

Following his NBA career, Lin spent a few years playing internationally, but he announced his retirement from basketball last year.
