Stephon Castle Jokes About Wemby's Bedtime After He's Named Spurs' Most Mature Player in Viral Video
If you listen to Stephon Castle, the NBA Finals are wreaking havoc with Victor Wembanyama's sleeping pattern.
Following the San Antonio Spurs' 115-111 win over the New York Knicks on Monday, Castle joked that Wembanyama is usually asleep by 9 p.m. after Wemby described him as the most mature player on the team.
There has been a lot written about Wembanyama's unique training habits in his quest to become the best player in the NBA.
In January 2024, Spurs director of basketball communications Jordan Howenstine told Mike Monroe of The Athletic that Wembanyama advised team staffers not to contact him after 9:30 p.m. because of his nightly routine.
"That's when he reads for an hour," Howenstine said. "Then he goes to sleep."
It is hard to maintain that sleep schedule in the NBA, but Wembanyama seems to be doing okay for himself. The two-time All-Star seemed plenty rested for Game 3 of the Finals with 32 points, eight rebounds and six assists in 39 minutes.
Tuesday is an off-day for the Spurs and Knicks, so Wembanyama will be able to rest before returning to the court for Game 4 on Wednesday night.
