New Knicks Rumors Update Landry Shamet's Free-Agent Market Amid NBA Finals Run
New York Knicks veteran guard Landry Shamet has been a steady source of production off the bench during the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, and it sounds like other teams have taken notice.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Shamet's performance during the postseason has been so impressive that "external suitors are already starting to circle in anticipation of pursuing him in free agency."
The Knicks have won 13 straight playoff games entering Monday's NBA Finals Game 3 against the Spurs, and Shamet has been a key contributor to their success. Stein noted that the 29-year-old is shooting nearly 55 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three-point range over those 13 games. He's scored in double figures in each of his last four outings.
Knicks head coach Mike Brown previously spoke about Shamet's importance to him and the team:
It sounds like New York will face some competition to retain Shamet this offseason, but for now, he will continue to do his part to help the team try to win its first NBA championship since 1973.
