CJ McCollum Reflects on Knicks' NBA Playoff Winning Streak Since Game-Winner, 'Different Team'
Atlanta Hawks guard C.J. McCollum is impressed by the way the New York Knicks have turned around their postseason since going down 2-1 in their first-round series against the Hawks.
McCollum hit a late game-winning shot for the Hawks in Game 3 of the first round back on April 23. The Knicks haven't lost another playoff game since.
"Sick," McCollum wrote Saturday while sharing an X repost of his first-round game-winner. "Knicks have been a different team since this moment."
The Knicks are currently riding a 13-game playoff win streak into Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals.
Those 13 wins included closing out the series against the Hawks, followed by sweeps of the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round and Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals.
The Knicks have since opened up the NBA Finals with two straight wins over Victor Wembanyama and the host San Antonio Spurs. The visitors overcame double-digit deficits in both wins.
The most recent Knicks victory took place Friday night as a late free steal and free throw from Jalen Brunson helped seal a 105-104 victory during Game 2 of the Finals in San Antonio.
The Knicks' playoff win streak currently ranks as the second-longest in NBA history only to the 2017 Golden State Warriors.
The 2026 championship series will swing back to New York with the Knicks up by two games.
The Knicks can put themselves on the brink of a title by extending the win streak to 14 games after Game 3 tips off Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden.
