Rams GM Sent The Rock, Hulk Hogan GIF to Browns GM While Finalizing Myles Garrett Trade
Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead reportedly compared his Myles Garrett trade negotiations with the Cleveland Browns' Andrew Berry to a showdown between Hulk Hogan and The Rock, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.
Snead responded to finalizing the trade by texting Berry a GIF of the two wrestlers staring one another down, Breer reported Friday.
According to Breer, Snead followed the GIF up with a text: "Me and you negotiating the kickbacks."
Berry responded with a laughing/crying emoji, Breer reported.
Garrett was officially traded to the Rams on Monday in exchange for a package headlined by edge rusher Jared Verse and a 2027 first-round pick. The deal also included a 2029 third-rounder that can become a first-round pick if Garrett is traded back to a team in the AFC North.
The trade took just over two months of negotiations, according to Breer. Garrett then waived his no-trade clause in order to accept the move to the Rams, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
The Rams have since reportedly reworked Garrett's contract to give him a raise in the first season of the five-year extension he signed with the Browns last March.
Garrett racked up 23.0 sacks to break the NFL's single-season record in his final campaign with the Browns.
Snead might now see if he can further bolster his defense with the return of retired Rams star Aaron Donald.
Donald has hinted at a potential comeback since the Garrett trade, and Snead did not shut down the possibility when asked about Donald earlier this week.
