2026 NBA Draft Scouting Report for Tre White

B/R NBA StaffJun 24, 2026

Tre White finished his college career at Kansas after one of the more winding journeys in the draft class. The 6'7" wing averaged 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds for the Jayhawks while shooting 40.3 percent from three-point range. But he played at Illinois the year before, Louisville prior to that, and USC as a freshman back in 2022-23.

Although never in Round 1 consideration, White remained on draft boards throughout the season because of his combination of size, shooting and versatility.

Evaluators viewed him as the type of wing who could fill a complementary role at the next level, and at 6'7", 215 pounds, he possesses prototypical wing size.

Essential Facts and Stats

College: Kansas | Position: G | Age: 23 | Height: 6'7" | Weight: 215 lbs | PPG: 135 | RPG: 6.7 | APG: 1.8 | BPG: 0.4 | SPG: 0.6 | FG%: 45 | 3PT%: 40.3 | FT%: 87.2

Realistic Pro Comparison: Naji Marshall

Dallas Mavericks v Los Angeles Clippers

Like Naji Marshall, White projects as a versatile wing whose value comes from size, toughness and complementary offensive skills.

Neither player relies on star-level shot creation, but both offer enough versatility to contribute in multiple lineup configurations.

Strengths

2 of 3
COLLEGE BASKETBALL: MAR 3 Kansas at Arizona State

Strength 1: Perimeter Shooting

White's 40.3 percent mark from three-point range is one of the biggest reasons NBA teams were interested. He proved he can knock down spot-up opportunities and punish defenses that leave him open. Combined with his 87.2 percent free-throw shooting, the numbers suggest legitimate NBA shooting potential.

Strength 2: Wing Size

At 6'7", White offers ideal dimensions for a modern NBA wing. He has enough size to play either wing spot and can hold his own physically against bigger opponents. Teams are always looking for players who fit that mold.

Strength 3: Rebounding

White's 6.7 rebounds per game stand out for a perimeter player. He consistently contributes on the glass and helps finish defensive possessions.

Weaknesses

3 of 3
St. John's v Kansas

Weakness 1: Limited Shot Creation

White is most effective playing off others rather than creating offense himself. He can struggle generating separation against set defenses and is not currently a primary offensive initiator.

Weakness 2: Average Playmaking

Although capable of making basic reads, White is not a natural creator. His 1.8 assists per game reflect a player who generally finishes possessions rather than orchestrates them.

Weakness 3: Defensive Impact

White has the size to defend multiple positions, but he does not consistently generate disruptive defensive plays. His steal and block numbers remain modest for a wing prospect.

Weakness 4: Age

At 23 years old, age certainly kept White out of early-draft consideration. Teams often prefer younger prospects with greater developmental upside. As a result, he may need to earn opportunities through immediate contributions, unless he can buck the trend and find another level.
