2026 NBA Draft Scouting Report for Washington Wizards' No. 46 Pick Felix Okpara

Jonathan WassermanJun 21, 2026

The Washington Wizards (via Orlando Magic) have officially selected Felix Okpara with the No. 46 pick in the 2026 NBA draft.

Okpara has been a rising NBA draft prospect whose value is built around his defense, length, and presence as a rim protector.

He's an athletic, mobile center who can anchor the paint, alter shots, and provide consistent resistance at the rim.

Offensively, he's still developing beyond finishes around the basket, but his physical tools and defensive upside make him an intriguing modern big man prospect.

Realistic Pro Comparison: Trey Jemison

Charlotte Hornets v New York Knicks

Trey Jemison earned a spot on an NBA roster due to his physical tools and physicality. Okpara has a chance to get there the same way while lacking offensive skill.

These are defensive and rebounding presences just by using their size, length and strength around the basket. Both have a chance to earn minutes for teams looking to beef up their front lines.

Strengths

Strength 1: Rim protection

Okpara has excellent timing and length as a shot blocker, consistently deterring drives at the rim. He changes the geometry of the paint just by being there and can erase mistakes on the perimeter.

Strength 2: Tools/mobility

He combines size, strength, and solid mobility for a modern center. This allows him to move well in space, defend pick-and-roll actions, and recover quickly around the basket.

Strength 3: Paint presence

Okpara is active on the glass and uses his frame well to secure rebounds in traffic. His physicality helps him carve out space and establish a strong interior presence on both ends.

Weaknesses

Tennessee v Michigan

Weakness 1: Scoring

Okpara is still very limited as an offensive threat outside of the paint. Most of his scoring comes from dunks, putbacks, and dump-offs, which can make him predictable in half-court sets.

Weakness 2: Touch

His touch around the rim and at the free-throw line (career 59.5 percent) is still developing. Improving his finishing variety and shooting mechanics will be important for long-term growth.

Weakness 3: Fouling

While impactful as a shot blocker, he can get into foul trouble due to mistimed challenges. Refining his positioning and patience will help him stay on the floor more consistently.
