The New York Knicks have officially selected Jack Kayil with the No. 39 pick in the 2026 NBA draft.

Kayil was quick to announce he'd be staying in the NBA draft ahead of the withdrawal deadline. That signaled confidence in his stock, as the German guard has helped ALBA Berlin advance to the BBL Finals.

Originally committed to Gonzaga, Kayil could now spend next year in the NBA. He's a shot-maker and playmaker who profiles as a combo.

Jack Kayil could resemble Cason Wallace, who can play and defend both backcourt positions.

Neither are going to blow opponents away with speed or athleticism. They're well-rounded combos who can play on and off the ball with three-point range, three-level shot-making and solid defense.

Wallace was the better defender coming into the league, while Kayil is the more proven shooter.
