2026 NBA Draft Scouting Report for New York Knicks' No. 25 Pick Sergio De Larrea

The New York Knicks (via Los Angeles Lakers) have officially selected Sergio De Larrea with the No. 25 pick in the 2026 NBA draft.

At 20 years old, De Larrea has been a regular contributor for a Valencia team that's reached Spanish ACB Finals.

After withdrawing from last year's draft, he decided to stay a part of the 2026 class after a number of big-name college players chose to go back to college.

It's easy to see why there'd be NBA interest in De Larrea, who has 2-guard size, combo skills and impressive efficiency numbers in a competitive pro league.

Realistic Pro Comparison: Bogdan Bogdanović

De Larrea and Bogdan Bogdanović are bigger guards who can handle the ball, create offense in pick-and-roll situations and score from multiple levels.

Like Bogdanović, De Larrea relies more on feel, pace and shot-making craft than elite athleticism, using his size to see over defenses and make advanced reads.

De Larrea is actually considered more of a lead ball-handler with a more natural feel for playmaking.

Strength 1: Positional size/versatility

At around 6'7" barefoot, he offers excellent size for a lead guard. His frame allows him to see over defenses, make difficult passes and potentially defend multiple perimeter positions.

Strength 2: Playmaking

De Larrea shows advanced feel as a primary ball-handler and consistently makes smart reads out of pick-and-roll actions. He manipulates defenses with pace, patience, and strong court vision.

Strength 3: Shooting

De Larrea shot 43.2 percent from three last year and 38.6 percent this year. The combination of passing and three-point shooting is usually a favorable one when projecting an NBA fit.

Weakness 1: Athleticism/burst

De Larrea shot 54.5 percent on layups and rarely got to the free-throw line. He's not a blow-by athlete or explosive finisher.

Weakness 2: Mid-range game

De Larrea shot under 26.0 percent on two-point jumpers and struggled to convert most of his floater attempts. This could be problematic for a player who also lacks burst getting to the rim.

Weakness 3: Turnovers

A 19.5 turnovers percentage on just 22.2 percent usage is almost unheard of. He just makes too many mistakes for a player who isn't a top scoring option.
