New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's popularity with his school-age constituents may have reached an all-time high Monday thanks to a special executive order he signed regarding the NBA Finals.

In a post on X, Mamdani jokingly revealed that he signed an executive order banning bedtimes for children in New York City so they can watch the New York Knicks take on the San Antonio Spurs with the NBA championship hanging in the balance:

The Spurs will host the Knicks in Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. ET. Every game for the entirety of the series is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET, although Game 2, and Games 5 and 7 (if necessary) will not be held on school nights for those who are not yet on summer break.
