Shedeur Sanders' Historic NFL Licensing Income Revealed in Report, Broke Tom Brady's Record

Andrew PetersMay 30, 2026

Shedeur Sanders is still trying to establish himself as the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback, but he's having no trouble marketing himself off the field.

According to the NFL Players Association annual report (h/t Front Office Sports' Daniel Kaplan), Sanders earned $17.7 million in group licensing income over the course of the season, shattering Tom Brady's previous record of $9.5 million in the 2021-2022 season.

Group licensing consists of deals that include six or more players, like jerseys, trading cards, video games and more. That figure doesn't account for individual deals, like the ones Sanders has with Gatorade, Delta Airlines, Beats by Dre, Ralph Lauren and others.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy led all players in group licensing income in 2024-25 with $4 million.

Sanders is playing on a four-year, $4.6 million deal after slipping to the fifth round in last year's draft, but he's making up for the money he missed out on with his off-the-field deals.

The son of NFL legend Deion Sanders appeared in eight games for the Browns last season, throwing for 1,400 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
