Jalen Brunson's Roman Reigns-Inspired Handshake With Knicks Trainer Shown in Video After ECF Win
New York Knicks superstar guard Jalen Brunson took a moment to acknowledge "The Tribal Chief" Roman Reigns following his team's sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday night.
After the Knicks beat the Cavs 130-93 in Game 4 of the ECF on Monday to advance to their first NBA Finals since 1999, Brunson was seen dapping up a team trainer and throwing up the "one," which is the signature pose of Reigns and the entire Bloodline in WWE:
Last month, after the Knicks eliminated the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs, Brunson told reporters about his special Reigns-themed handshake, saying, "I have a handshake with one of our trainers and we acknowledge him before every game."
Brunson is a longtime wrestling fan who has been shown multiple times on WWE programming. He even got involved with the show during an episode of SmackDown in June 2024, stopping Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton from handing Logan Paul brass knuckles.
Now that Brunson has taken care of business by winning Eastern Conference Finals MVP, the focus shifts toward whether Reigns will be able to beat Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat and retain the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Italy on Sunday.
