Kingston Flemings to Hawks, Watch Highlights of No. 8 Pick in 2026 NBA Draft
The Atlanta Hawks fortified the team's backcourt by selecting Houston point guard Kingston Flemings with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft.
Flemings is coming off a strong freshman season with the Cougars, averaging 16.1 points, 5.2 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. He shot 47.6 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from three-point territory while connecting on 84.5 percent of his free throws.
Flemings received consensus Second-Team All-American honors and was named to the All-Big 12 Conference First Team for his efforts.
Here's a look at the 19-year-old's highlights from Houston's 2026 NCAA tournament run, which ended in the Sweet 16.
Flemings was compared to San Antonio Spurs point guard De'Aaron Fox by Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman.
"Flemings has become a very popular prospect with a comforting mix of physical tools, burst, pull-up shooting, playmaking IQ and late-clock/game maturity," Wasserman wrote.
Flemings also put together an impressive performance at the NBA draft combine, as his 40.5" max vertical ranked No. 3 among all guards that participated. His shuttle run time of 2.69 seconds was the second-fastest at the combine as well.
Now, Flemings will look to help the Hawks take another step forward after finishing with a 46-36 record last season.
