Kendrick Perkins Reveals Former Celtics Players' Texts on Jaylen Brown on Video Amid Stephen A. Beef
Kendrick Perkins has invited himself into the Jaylen Brown vs. Stephen A. Smith feud.
The former Boston Celtics player and current ESPN talking head claimed that a number of former Celtics aren't thrilled with how Brown has handled himself this offseason.
"I get another text that says 'Hey, JB trippin,'" Perkins said (11:30 mark). "Another text from a former Celtics player that said, 'JB, lack of accountability.' Right? ... JB, guess what? It's a lot of people in the organization, a lot of former players, legends, that don't agree with you, bro! They don't like the way that this looks ... This instance, I can't rock with you, JB. Guess what? There's a lot of former Celtic players that's not rocking with you either."
All of this is incredibly unnecessary, of course. Brown's offseason commentary tour has been bizarre, to say the least, while Smith seems insistent on feuding with a number of NBA players and inserting himself into the conversation.
But there's still real basketball to be played, with the Western Conference Finals between the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs kicking off on Monday and the New York Knicks facing the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night in the ECF.
