Joseph ZuckerMay 18, 2026

The fiancée of late NBA forward Brandon Clarke addressed his death publicly for the first time in a heartfelt social media post Sunday.

"There are no words to describe this feeling," Amber Lorraine wrote on Instagram (via People's Anna Lazarus Caplan). "I never thought I'd have to live life without you. I'm not really sure how to do this without you by my side. You were the most special person, with the biggest heart. You made an impact on so many people, but most of all me. I have never felt so loved and cared for, you made me feel like the most special girl in the world."

Lorraine added that she and Clarke were going to get married "soon" and had plans to "start a family and live on land with a bunch of animals and a garden."

"All I want is to hug you and kiss you and to hold you in my arms," she said. "I don't know how to process that you aren't here anymore. I love you always Brandon, forever and always ∞ ❤️ please keep watching over me, I need you."

Priority Sports, which represented Clarke, announced his death on May 12. The Memphis Grizzlies, for whom he spent seven seasons, said they were "heartbroken by the tragic loss."

"Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten," the team said.

Clark averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds across 309 games. He was a member of the NBA All-Rookie team in 2019-20.

The 6'8" forward also had a decorated college career at San Jose State and Gonzaga. With the Zags, he was a third-team All-American and the West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2018-19.
