Celtics, 76ers, Knicks Voted as 'Most Obnoxious Fans' at Home Arenas by NBA Players in New Poll
NBA players respect the passion of Boston Celtics fans, but they sure don't like them.
In The Athletic's final edition of the 2026 Anonymous NBA Player Poll, 20.5 percent of the 161 players polled said the Celtics' TD Garden had the most passionate fans in the NBA, but 32.1 percent of 159 players polled also said they were the most obnoxious fans.
The Philadelphia 76ers ranked second on the obnoxious front with 17.9 percent of the vote, followed by the New York Knicks at 16.4 percent. No other fanbase received a double-digit percentage of the vote.
It was a pretty East Coast flavor in that regard, though the Utah Jazz ranked fourth at 8.2 percent. You can bet fans in Boston, Philly and New York City will take plenty of pride in creating home atmospheres that opposing players don't necessarily enjoy.
