Donovan Mitchell Shout Outs Mets for Beating Yankees Ahead of Knicks Series in New Trending Video
Sunday was a big occasion for Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell in more ways than one.
During his press conference after Cleveland's 125-94 win over the Detroit Pistons, Mitchell made sure to shout out the New York Mets taking the Subway Series against the New York Yankees:
The Mets were one out away from a loss in the rubber match before left fielder Tyrone Taylor hit a game-tying three-run home run in the ninth. Second baseman Marcus Semien scored the winning run on a fielder's choice in the 10th.
Mitchell gets his Mets fandom honestly. A native of Elmsford, New York, his dad worked for the Mets when he was growing up.
The seven-time All-Star is returning to his home state for the Eastern Conference Finals with the Cavs matched up against the New York Knicks.
