Mikel Brown Jr. to Nets, Watch Highlights of No. 6 Pick in 2026 NBA Draft

After an outstanding season at Louisville, Mikel Brown Jr. is officially NBA-bound.

Brown was selected sixth overall by the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA draft on Tuesday.

Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell hyped the fellow Louisville product during the draft:

In his scouting report of Brown, B/R's Jonathan Wasserman compared the 18-year-old to Coby White, a player who has proven to be a valuable starter and a strong option off the bench.

Brown was the top point guard and No. 8 overall player in his class going into college, and he lived up to the hype. He was one of the best scorers in the ACC, putting up 18.2 points per game, while also showing flashes of his playmaking ability, averaging 4.7 assists per game.

He put up 45 points in a win over NC State, breaking Cooper Flagg's previous ACC record for points in a single game by a freshman.

Unfortunately, Brown's collegiate career was cut short as a back injury held him out of the NCAA tournament, but he had already proved himself worthy of being a first-round pick.

Brown found immediate success at Louisville, and he'll now look to do the same in his rookie season with the Nets.
