The Milwaukee Bucks bolstered their backcourt Tuesday with the addition of Brayden Burries.

Milwaukee selected the Arizona guard with the No. 10 overall pick of the 2026 NBA draft, giving it one of the most productive players in all of college basketball last season one day after it traded away franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo.

While Burries played just one season at the collegiate level, he took full advantage of it as an All-Big 12 First-Team selection who helped lead the Wildcats to a conference regular-season championship, conference tournament title and Final Four appearance.

He averaged 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 49.1 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from deep. He also saved some of his best performances for the biggest moments with 21 points in the Big 12 tournament championship game win over Houston and 23 points in the Sweet 16 win over Arkansas.

Here is a look at some of Burries' most notable highlights.

Scouting Report

Burries may not turn into a superstar at the NBA level, but that shouldn't stand in his way from becoming a productive contributor for years to come.

Given that backdrop, the pro comparison of Derrick White from B/R's Jonathan Wasserman makes perfect sense.

White has played a complementary role to players such as Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown for much of his career, but he is still someone who can impact the game in a number of ways and take over for stretches as a scorer.

"Though not super creative, he's the type of guard who doesn't need flash to get to the rim or hit pull-ups, floaters and threes," Wasserman wrote of Burries. "He has been super efficient in ball-screen situations, getting downhill and shooting in the mid-range. He's had lots of success attacking closeouts and space in transition, using his frame well to shield defenders and create easy finishing angles."

Wasserman noted Burries' overall upside may be lower than some of the other players in this draft.

Still, that shouldn't stop him from becoming an impactful NBA player for the Bucks.
