Giannis Trolls NBA Trade Rumors With Cryptic Comment on Social Media Video Post

Andrew PetersMay 14, 2026

Giannis Antetokounmpo's name is sure to be in trade rumors all offseason, but he's prepared to mind his own business.

The Milwaukee Bucks star trolled recent trade rumors on social media on Thursday, posting a video playing basketball with his son and saying they are "minding our business."

Some think Antetokounmpo may be referencing Myles Turner's viral comments about Bucks players showing up late for practices, film sessions and team flights:

Former teammate Bobby Portis was surprised by the comments from Turner:

Antetokounmpo spent all of last summer immersed in trade rumors, with fans speculating whether he wanted out of Milwaukee and whether the Bucks would move on from him.

He was ultimately on Milwaukee's roster by the start of the 2025-26 campaign, but that didn't mean the trade rumors stopped. There was still plenty of back and forth about Antetokounmpo's possible departure up until the trade deadline, but he once again wasn't moved.

This time around, Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam doesn't plan to continue the back and forth. He said earlier this week that a resolution regarding the two-time MVP will be found in the next month and a half.

"Sometime over the next six or seven weeks we'll decide whether Giannis is going to sign a max contract and stay with us or he's going to play somewhere else," Haslam told reporters. "And [general manager] Jon [Horst] and Taylor, along with [co-owner] Wes [Edens] and myself, will make that call, and we understand the gravity of that call."

While Antetokounmpo staying in Milwaukee is perhaps the Bucks' preference, the team is ultimately seeking more clarity about the future as it must decide whether to build its roster around Antetokounmpo or pivot to a rebuild.

It will be impossible for Antetokounmpo to ignore the trade rumors, but he'll look to try his best to enjoy the summer.
