Nets Fall 3 Spots in 2026 NBA Draft Lottery, Continue Negative Trend for Franchise
The Brooklyn Nets have done a lot of losing the past two seasons, but the NBA draft lottery was not kind either time.
Brooklyn, which went 20-62 this season after going 26-56 in 2024-25, landed the No. 6 pick in Sunday's lottery for the 2026 NBA draft. That continued a pattern of negative lottery luck, which is all the more notable since the Houston Rockets control the team's 2027 first-round pick:
Fortunately for the Nets, there is no shortage of talent in this year's loaded draft.
That means they can still land a potential franchise cornerstone at No. 6 overall. B/R's Jonathan Wasserman projected them to select Arkansas star Darius Acuff Jr. with that sixth pick, which would give them a point guard to build around for the foreseeable future.
