Even though this class is regarded as being very strong at the top, Dybantsa appears to have the inside track to be the No. 1 selection.
The BYU star is currently projected to be taken first overall by B/R's Jonathan Wasserman. He was a consensus All-American first team selection in his lone college season after leading the nation with 25.5 points per game on 51.0 percent shooting in 35 starts.
Wasserman's scouting report for Dybantsa cites Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown as his pro comp, with athleticism, self-creation and shotmaking listed as his primary strengths.
Right behind Dybantsa in the race to be the top pick is Peterson, who recently revealed some of his physical issues at Kansas were the result of using creatine for the first time in his life.
Wasserman noted in his mock that scouts have "seemingly disregarded the negative narratives" around Peterson's injuries and availability that popped up throughout the college season.
Anthony Edwards is cited as Peterson's NBA comp, so there's clearly a lot of enthusiasm for the 19-year-old leading up to the draft.
Boozer, Wilson and Darius Acuff Jr. seem like the safest bets to round out the top five picks, though the order they come off the board could depend on team need and preference.
The 2026 NBA draft will take place on June 23 and 24 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
