Mavs' P.J. Washington Recreates Viral LeBron James 'Smiling Through It All' Meme in Trending Photo
Dallas Mavericks forward P.J. Washington took some inspiration from LeBron James as he enjoys the 2026 NBA offseason.
Washington wrote that he "can't believe this is my life" over a photo of himself enjoying his vacation on his Instagram story, a nod to James' viral "smiling through it all" post from 2018.
The Mavericks handed Washington a four-year, $90 million contract extension in Sept. 2025.
While the 27-year-old was limited to just 56 appearance during the 2025-26 season due to ankle and elbow injuries, he still averaged 14.2 points and 7.0 rebounds to go along with 1.1 blocks per game. He shot 45.0 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from behind the arc.
Although Dallas ultimately missed the playoffs with a record of 26-56, Washington is enjoying the start of his offseason.
