The 2026 NBA playoffs featured just one matchup on Saturday, as the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers faced off in Game 7 of their first-round series.

In the end, the 76ers wrapped up a 109-100 win over the Celtics to advance to the second round and come back from a 3-1 series deficit.

Saturday Highlights

The 76ers started off strong on Saturday, opening the game with a 9-0 lead and taking a 32-19 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Boston fought back in the second, scoring 31 points in the period to only trail by five points at halftime.

Philadelphia appeared to be pulling away in the third quarter, leading by as many as 18 points.

Still, the Celtics continued to battle and cut the deficit to 92-91 with just under eight minutes remaining in the game.

With Philadelphia holding a narrow 99-98 lead over Boston and two minutes left, 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey connected on a pair of layups to give his team some more breathing room.

The Celtics attempted to close the gap with several three-point attempts on their next two possessions, but couldn't get any of their long-range shots to fall.

Meanwhile, Maxey hit three free throws to seal the win for the 76ers.

He finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists while shooting 11-of-18 from the field and 2-of-4 from behind the arc.

Joel Embiid scored a game-high 34 points to help Philadelphia emerge victorious, shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Embiid also grabbed 12 rebounds and racked up six assists.

The 76ers will now face off against the New York Knicks in the second round.
