New NBA Rumors Reveal Latest on CJ McCollum, Quin Snyder Hawks Contracts Ahead of Free Agency

Timothy RappApr 30, 2026

The Atlanta Hawks have had an excellent 2025-26 season, going 46-36 and giving the New York Knicks all they can handle during the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

All of that despite retooling the roster after trading star guard Trae Young. And that bodes very well for the futures of head coach Quin Snyder and veteran guard CJ McCollum.

According to NBA reporter Jake Fischer, "The Hawks were one of this season's true surprise teams and league sources say there is strong front office support for Snyder to receive a new deal. ... Newly acquired McCollum, who arrived in the Young deal in early January on an expiring contract, will also be seeking a new pact after emerging as the reshaped Hawks' veteran leader during their second-half surge. I'm told Atlanta's plan is to bring back McCollum as well."

McCollum, 34, averaged 18.7 points and 4.1 assists in 41 games with the Hawks this season and has been even better in the playoffs, putting up 20.8 points per contest while hitting some crucial shots.

The Hawks trail the Knicks 3-2, so advancing to the conference semifinals is still very much up in the air. But either way, this season has been a success, and Snyder and McCollum's contributions in that regard are likely to keep them around going forward.
