Jalen Brunson, KAT, Knicks Beat Hawks as NBA Fans React to Game 5 Win to Put Atlanta on Brink
The New York Knicks are back in control against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Knicks downed the Hawks 126-97 on Tuesday to take a 3-2 series lead. They'll now have the chance to win the series and move on to Round 2 with a win in Game 6 on Thursday.
Jalen Brunson led the way for New York with his best game of the series so far. The star point guard posted 39 points and eight assists, shooting an efficient 15-of-23 from the field.
Karl-Anthony Towns added 6 points, 14 boards and a pair of blocks while OG Anunoby recorded 17 points and 10 boards.
Fans had high praise for Brunson and the Knicks for avoiding a third loss to the lower-seeded Hawks.
The series is not over yet, but it's hard to imagine New York losing Game 6 if it plays like it did on Tuesday. The Hawks will also need far more from CJ McCollum, who finished with just six points after a strong start to the series.
