Michael Jordan Autograph Card Sells for Record at Auction, Includes 1992 NBA ASG Jersey Swatch
An NBA icon's basketball card sold for a record price this week.
Per ESPN's Dan Hajducky, Michael Jordan's autographed 1997-98 Upper Deck Game Jersey, which features a jersey swatch from the 1992 NBA All-Star Game, sold privately at Goldin Auctions for $4.25 million.
The card had a PSA grade of 6 and an autograph grade of 9. It is the most paid for a solo Jordan card.
"Beyond our success in generating auction records, we remain dedicated to facilitating transactions between private buyers and sellers to enhance the world's most prestigious collections and portfolios," Ken Goldin, founder and CEO of Goldin Auctions, said.
The previous record for a solo Jordan card was the $2.928 million that was paid for a 1-of-1 numbered, autographed Jordan Logoman from the 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection. That card sold in 2024.
The record for the most expensive Jordan card still belongs to the card featuring Jordan and Kobe Bryant that was sold for $12.932 million last year. That is also the record for the most ever paid for a sports card.
