Cade Cunningham, Pistons Bounce Back in Win vs. Magic as NBA Fans React to 1-1 Playoff Series
Nothing separated the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic on Wednesday night after two quarters, as their Game 2 matchup in the Eastern Conference Playoffs was tied at 46 apiece.
And then the third quarter happened.
The Pistons ran the Magic off the court after the half, outscoring them 38-16 in the third quarter while not only seizing control of the game, but also evening the series at a game apiece following the 98-83 victory.
Cade Cunningham did Cade Cunningham things, finishing with 27 points, 11 assists and six rebounds. His star counterpart, Orlando's Paolo Banchero, couldn't quite match him (18 points, eight assists, six rebounds).
Orlando shot just 33 percent from the field (26-of-80) and 25 percent from three (8-of-32).
Fans and pundits on social media reacted to the crucial win for the Pistons (and Orlando's complete no-show in the third quarter):
The Magic stunned the Pistons in Game 1, and through two quarters on Wednesday they were in position to do so again. But Detroit quickly reminded them why they were the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
That sets up a very important Game 3 on Saturday (1 p.m. ET, NBCSN). Orlando stole home-court advantage in Game 1, at least temporarily. But the momentum shifted back to the Pistons in a big way during the third quarter on Wednesday.
