NBA's Mexico City Game Matchup, Date Announced for 2026-27 Season

Timothy RappApr 16, 2026

The NBA's game in Mexico City during the 2026-27 season will feature the Denver Nuggets vs. the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, Nov. 7, according to Marc J. Spears of Andscape.

The contest will be hosted at the Arena CDMX.

It will be the NBA's 35th game in Mexico dating back to 1992, third most of any country behind the United States and Canada.

As the league noted in its press release, the contest "will take place during the week of traditional Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations locally for the third consecutive year.  The Día de Muertos theme will be showcased through a variety of in-arena activations during the game, including a specially themed basketball court and several fan engagement initiatives."

It's a fun matchup. Three-time MVP Nikola Jokić leads the Nuggets, a team with championship aspirations this season. Meanwhile, Tyrese Haliburton will be back on the court for the Pacers after missing the entirety of the 2025-26 season due to a torn Achilles he suffered in Game 7 of last year's NBA Finals.

The Pacers also have a 14 percent chance of landing the top overall pick in June's NBA draft and a 52.1 percent chance at a top-four selection, meaning Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard and Ivica Zubac could be joined by a top prospect like AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson or Cameron Boozer.

The 2025-26 Mexico City Game saw the Dallas Mavericks face the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 1. The Pistons won that contest, 122-110, part of a 13-game winning streak the team went on early in the season.
