LeBron James Says Sharing Floor with Bronny Is 'Best Thing That's Ever Happened' In His NBA Career

Timothy RappApr 16, 2026

LeBron James has won four championships, four MVP awards, probably holds the record for the most NBA records held and is very much in the GOAT conversation alongside Michael Jordan.

James the player has accomplished just about everything in his career. But James the father still puts playing with his son, Bronny, above it all.

"Every moment we get an opportunity to play together, it's something that I'll never take for granted. Me being on the floor with him, postseason, regular season, training camp, practices—it's the best thing that's ever happened to me in my career, above everything that I've accomplished," he told reporters Thursday. "The fact that he's put himself in a position to get his number called for a postseason game is pretty remarkable, pretty cool, given the circumstances he's been through the last couple of years. He's earned it, he deserves it, and he'll be ready."

Given the injuries to Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, Bronny was called upon more down the stretch, and could be called up in the playoffs as well.

"We're gonna have to have all hands on deck for the series," head coach JJ Redick told reporters Wednesday. "[Bronny's] got to be ready. Nick [Smith Jr.] will have to be ready. I think Bronny's improved a lot. I think we trust him. The shooting piece, I'm a believer in, because of how well he shot it in the last two years in the G League. I know there was a stretch recently where he didn't shoot it well and of course, he had a nice shooting game against Utah. He's improved a ton defensively in terms of his body positioning, both on and off ball. We want him to continue to evolve as a disruptive defender as well."
