New NBA Rumors on LeBron James, Giannis, Kawhi Futures Ahead of 2026 Offseason
This year's NBA offseason could see a handful of stars on the move.
Per NBA insider Marc Stein, "there is a growing anticipation in numerous front offices" that the Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James, the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Los Angeles Clippers' Kawhi Leonard "could land with new teams next season."
James is the only one of those players currently set to hit free agency once the season ends, but Stein noted that "both Antetokounmpo and Leonard were pursued by rival teams before the Feb. 5 trade deadline and are expected to generate even more external trade interest this summer."

While a retirement decision is still looming for the 41-year-old James, all signs point to him returning for a 24th NBA season. He's called Los Angeles home for eight seasons now, but whether he wants to close out his career elsewhere remains to be seen.
A split between Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee seems inevitable at this point, but it also seemed as if he'd be traded last offseason, too. He's been publicly feuding with his team recently, though, so the two sides might have hit their breaking point.
While Leonard has done well to keep the Clippers in playoff position even after James Harden's departure, he alone is likely not enough to lead them to a title. At 34 years old, it could be in the best interest of both Leonard and the Clippers to go their separate ways.
