The NBA has already released its schedule for Game 1 of each first-round matchup.
The Oklahoma City Thunder lead the NBA championship odds ledger at +125 overall, per FanDuel Sportsbook. The San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics are next at +550 apiece, and the Denver Nuggets and Cleveland Cavaliers then sit at 11-1. The New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons round out the top seven at 20-1.
The Thunder are looking to become back-to-back NBA champions, marking the first team to do so since the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.
OKC leads the NBA championship odds ledger at +125 overall, per FanDuel Sportsbook. The San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics are next at +550 apiece, and the Denver Nuggets and Cleveland Cavaliers then sit at 11-1. The New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons round out the top seven at 20-1.
All of those teams can make a case for being the NBA champion. OKC is the favorite for a reason and just won an NBA-high 64 games. The upstart Spurs' time could be now, and they did quite well against OKC, winning four of five games.
The Celtics are the Eastern Conference favorites with Jayson Tatum back in the mix from a torn Achilles. The 60-win Pistons could be a problem, and like the Spurs, they may announce their early arrival to the league amid a rapid rebuild.
The Cavaliers have a shot with the talented superstar backcourt of James Harden and Donovan Mitchell leading the way. The Knicks strongly threatened to win the Eastern Conference title last year and run it back with the same starting five and an arguably better bench.
The Nuggets, of course, are led by arguably the league's best player in center Nikola Jokić, who could very well pilot this team to a second championship in four years.
It should be an exciting postseason. The No. 7 and No. 8 seeds still need to be decided, though, but that will happen soon enough before the playoffs get going Saturday.
