Dontayvion Wicks Reportedly Traded to Eagles From Packers, WR Signs Contract Amid AJ Brown Rumors
The Green Bay Packers reportedly traded wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles acquired Wicks from the Packers in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick. He also received a new one-year extension worth $12.5 million from Philadelphia.
Eagles star wideout A.J. Brown's long-term future with the team is uncertain, as Schefter reported Friday that a potential trade involving Brown would likely occur after June 1 in order to provide Philadelphia with more financial flexibility.

If the Eagles were to trade Brown before June 1, they would incur a $43.4 million dead cap charge (via Over the Cap). If they wait until after June 1 to part ways with him on the trade market, the dead cap charge would drop to $16.4 million.
As for Wicks, he was set to enter the final season of his rookie contract in 2026 before his one-year extension.
The Packers initially selected him with a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft after he spent his college career at Virginia.
Wicks immediately carved out a role in Green Bay's passing attack as a rookie and established himself as a deep threat, recording 581 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 14.9 yards per reception.
In 2024, he reeled in 39 catches for 415 yards and five scores.
Wicks took a step back last season, as he dealt with an ankle injury throughout the year and eventually missed the Packers' matchup with the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card round of the playoffs due to a concussion.
He caught 30 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games during his 2025 campaign.
With Brown's murky long-term outlook and the departure of Jahan Dotson in free agency, the Eagles added more depth behind DeVonta Smith on Friday.
