The next deadline for the Heat to sign a player is Sunday, which is the final day of the regular season.
Rozier was amongย 34 people indictedย in connection to two separate federal gambling investigations. Heย pleaded not guiltyย to charges of wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy charges during a court appearance in December.
The Heat originallyย acquiredย Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets for Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round draft pick in January 2024. He was in the second year of a four-year, $96 million contract extension at the time of the deal.
Rozier appeared in 95 games with the Heat over two seasons. The 32-year-old played 10 seasons in the NBA with three different teams.
The Heat are locked into the 9-10 game in the play-in tournament. They are currently the No. 10 seed, but could move up to ninth if they win out and either the Hornets or Philadelphia 76ers lose their final two regular-season games.
