Steph Curry Update on Minutes Restriction for Warriors vs. Clippers Play-In Game After Injury Return

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will have a minutes restriction in the team's Play-In Tournament matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, albeit a fairly loose one.

Curry previously missed 27 straight games this season due to patellofemoral pain syndrome, also known as "runner's knee."

He eventually made his return during the Warriors' 117-116 loss to the Houston Rockets on April 5, playing 26 minutes while coming off the bench.

Two games later, Golden State ruled out Curry for a matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers because of right knee injury management.

The Warriors haven't been able to find much consistency during the 2025-26 regular season largely due to injuries, as star forward Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending torn ACL on Jan. 19. Shooting guard Moses Moody's year came to an early end due to a torn left patellar tendon as well.

Golden State also acquired forward Kristaps Porziņģis ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline, but he played in just one game throughout his first month with the organization while dealing with an illness.

As for Curry, he's continued to serve as the Warriors' offensive engine when healthy, averaging 26.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 46.8. percent from the field and 39.2. percent from three point territory this season.

Golden State holds the No. 10 spot in the Western Conference standings with a 37-45 record and will need to win two games in the Play-In Tournament to reach the postseason as the No. 8 and final seed.
