B/R's MLB Farm System Rankings for the 2026 Season
Welcome to Bleacher Report's first farm system rankings of the 2026 season.
Multiple factors helped determine each prospect's placement on his team's top prospect list. Potential tends to trump production, especially in the lower levels of the minors and with recent draft picks. For prospects in the upper levels of the minors, production was a bigger factor since they are closer to the big leagues.
A tier system was used to help differentiate the varying levels of prospect talent:
Tier 1: Nos. 1-25 on B/R's Top 100 prospects list. This is the cream of the prospect crop, and players who are viewed as potential future superstars.
Tier 2: Nos. 26-50 on B/R's Top 100 prospects list. These prospects are potential All-Star level talents, but with at least one minor question in their profile.
Tier 3: Nos. 51-100 on B/R's Top 100 prospects list. These prospects might have recently broken out, are still in the lower levels of the minors or are former Tier 1 or Tier 2 prospects whose stock is down.
Tier 4: Nos. 101-200 among prospects, in no particular order, with the highest likelihood of entering the Top 100 in the future.
Tier 5: Everyone else. Organizational depth, one-tool standouts, Quad-A guys, teenagers with an extremely limited track record in the lowest levels of the minors, you get the idea.
A player must not have surpassed the rookie-eligibility limits (130 at-bats, 50 innings pitched, 45 days on an active roster) to be included in these rankings.
Note: Samuel Basallo (BAL), Nolan McLean (NYM), Dylan Beavers (BAL) and Parker Messick (CLE) have all exhausted their prospect status since being included in our preseason Top 100 prospect list. They have been replaced and the rankings and tiers have been shuffled accordingly.
30. San Diego Padres
1 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 26
Top 10 Prospects
1. C Ethan Salas (Tier 3)
2. LHP Kruz Schoolcraft (Tier 4)
3. LHP Kash Mayfield (Tier 4)
4. RHP Miguel Mendez
5. RHP Humberto Cruz
6. SS Jorge Quintana
7. OF Ryan Wideman
8. C Ty Harvey
9. RHP Bradgley Rodriguez
10. 3B Kale Fountain
Prospect Snapshot: LHP Kruz Schoolcraft
Only Seth Hernandez (No. 6 overall) was taken ahead of Schoolcraft among high school pitchers in the 2025 draft class, as the Padres took him with the No. 25 overall pick. The 6'8" southpaw was a two-way player in high school, and could see his prospect stock take off now that he's set to turn his full attention to pitching.
29. Houston Astros
2 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 22
Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Kevin Alvarez (Tier 4)
2. SS Xavier Neyens (Tier 4)
3. OF Ethan Frey (Tier 4)
4. 2B Brice Matthews (Tier 4)
5. RHP AJ Blubaugh
6. C Walker Janek
7. RHP Ethan Pecko
8. RHP Bryce Mayer
9. RHP Ryan Forcucci
10. SS Albert Fermín
Prospect Snapshot: OF Kevin Alvarez
The Astros were the only team without a player on our preseason Top 100 prospect list, but that might not be the case for long if Alvarez makes a smooth transition stateside. The 2025 international signing hit .301/.419/.455 with 17 extra-base hits and more walks (23) than strikeouts (19), and his smooth left-handed swing has drawn comparisons to Kyle Tucker.
28. Atlanta Braves
3 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 17
Top 10 Prospects
1. LHP Cam Caminiti (Tier 3)
2. RHP JR Ritchie (Tier 3)
3. RHP Didier Fuentes (Tier 4)
4. SS Alex Lodise
5. RHP Owen Murphy
6. LHP Briggs McKenzie
7. RHP Lucas Braun
8. RHP Luke Sinnard
9. SS Tate Southisene
10. OF Diego Tornes
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Didier Fuentes
Fuentes earned a spot on the Opening Day roster after posting a 0.66 ERA and an 18-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 13.2 innings this spring. The 20-year-old was the youngest player to appear in an MLB game in 2025, and he looks like the next man up if the Braves need rotation reinforcements.
27. Los Angeles Angels
4 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 24
Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Tyler Bremner (Tier 3)
2. C Gabriel Davalillo (Tier 4)
3. OF Nelson Rada (Tier 4)
4. SS Joswa Lugo (Tier 4)
5. RHP George Klassen
6. LHP Johnny Slawinski
7. RHP Trey Gregory-Alford
8. RHP Chase Shores
9. RHP Dylan Jordan
10. SS Denzer Guzman
Prospect Snapshot: C Gabriel Davalillo
Signed for $2 million as part of the 2025 international class, Davalillo hit .302/.408/.518 with seven home runs and 31 RBI in 41 games in the Dominican Summer League last year. He will be 18 years old for the entire 2026 season, and might have the highest offensive ceiling of any bat in the Angels system.
26. Texas Rangers
5 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 7
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Sebastian Walcott (Tier 1)
2. RHP Caden Scarborough (Tier 3)
3. RHP Jose Corniell (Tier 4)
4. RHP David Davalillo (Tier 4)
5. SS/RHP Josh Owens
6. RHP AJ Russell
7. RHP Winston Santos
8. SS Yolfran Castillo
9. RHP Izack Tiger
10. OF Elian Rosario
Prospect Snapshot: SS/RHP Josh Owens
With 50-grade power and the glove to stick at a middle infield spot as a position player, and an electric fastball-slider pairing on the mound that both profile as potential plus pitches, Owens is one of the best two-way prospects in baseball. A third-round pick in the 2025 draft, it will be interesting to see how the Rangers utilize him this season.
25. Arizona Diamondbacks
6 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 23
Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Ryan Waldschmidt (Tier 2)
2. SS Kayson Cunningham (Tier 3)
3. OF Slade Caldwell (Tier 4)
4. 2B Tommy Troy (Tier 4)
5. RHP Daniel Eagen (Tier 4)
6. 2B Demetrio Crisantes
7. RHP David Hagaman
8. 2B JD Dix
9. RHP Patrick Forbes
10. 3B LuJames Groover
Prospect Snapshot: OF Ryan Waldschmidt
The No. 31 overall pick in the 2024 draft, Waldschmidt hit .289/.419/.473 with 27 doubles, 18 home runs, 78 RBI and 29 steals in 134 games between High-A and Double-A in his first full pro season. The D-backs sent him to Triple-A to open the year, and there's a good chance he'll see the majors before the All-Star break.
24. Baltimore Orioles
7 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 21
Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Trey Gibson (Tier 3)
2. OF Nate George (Tier 3)
3. C/OF Ike Irish (Tier 4)
4. RHP Luis De León (Tier 4)
5. RHP Esteban Mejia (Tier 4)
6. SS Wehiwa Aloy (Tier 4)
7. 2B Aron Estrada
8. RHP Braxton Bragg
9. OF Enrique Bradfield Jr.
10. LHP Boston Bateman
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Trey Gibson
With Samuel Basallo and Dylan Beavers both exhausting their prospect status just days after Opening Day following extended September runs, there is a new No. 1 prospect in the Orioles system. Gibson, 23, had 166 strikeouts in 120.1 innings across three minor league levels last year, and he has the size and stuff to be a middle-of-the-rotation power pitcher.
23. Kansas City Royals
8 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 27
Top 10 Prospects
1. C Carter Jensen (Tier 1)
2. C Blake Mitchell (Tier 4)
3. RHP Kendry Chourio (Tier 4)
4. LHP David Shields (Tier 4)
5. OF Sean Gamble (Tier 4)
6. SS Josh Hammond (Tier 4)
7. C Ramon Ramirez
8. OF Angeibel Gomez
9. RHP Drew Beam
10. SS Yandel Ricardo
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Kendry Chourio
Signed for a modest $247,500 as part of the 2025 international class, Chourio began last season in the Dominican Summer League and ended it playing Single-A ball stateside. He finished with a 3.51 ERA and an elite 63-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and his extreme pitchability should help him move through the minors faster than most teenage arms.
22. Colorado Rockies
9 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 9
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Ethan Holliday (Tier 2)
2. 1B Charlie Condon (Tier 3)
3. OF Jared Thomas (Tier 4)
4. OF Cole Carrigg (Tier 4)
5. OF Roldy Brito (Tier 4)
6. OF Robert Calaz (Tier 4)
7. RHP Brody Brecht
8. LHP Griffin Herring
9. OF Max Belyeu
10. RHP JB Middleton
Prospect Snapshot: OF Roldy Brito
Brito won Arizona Complex League MVP honors last season by hitting .368/.445/.555 with 22 extra-base hits and 22 steals in 51 games. He continued to rake after he was promoted to Single-A, and while his long-term defensive home is still up in the air, his hit tool has put a clear up arrow next to his name.
21. Chicago Cubs
10 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 8
Top 10 Prospects
1. C Moisés Ballesteros (Tier 2)
2. RHP Jaxon Wiggins (Tier 3)
3. SS Jefferson Rojas (Tier 4)
4. OF Ethan Conrad (Tier 4)
5. OF Kevin Alcántara (Tier 4)
6. 1B Jonathon Long (Tier 4)
7. OF Kane Kepley
8. IF Pedro Ramírez
9. OF Josiah Hartshorn
10. C Owen Ayers
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Jaxon Wiggins
The Cubs have not always had success developing arms in recent years, but Cade Horton bucked that trend, and Wiggins could be their next success story. The 24-year-old logged a 2.19 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 78 innings while reaching Triple-A last year, and his 70-grade fastball/60-grade slider pairing gives him true swing-and-miss stuff.
20. New York Yankees
11 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS George Lombard Jr. (Tier 2)
2. RHP Carlos Lagrange (Tier 3)
3. RHP Elmer Rodríguez (Tier 3)
4. SS Dax Kilby (Tier 3)
5. RHP Ben Hess (Tier 4)
6. RHP Bryce Cunningham (Tier 4)
7. OF Spencer Jones (Tier 4)
8. RHP Thatcher Hurd
9. RHP Chase Hampton
10. LHP Kyle Carr
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Carlos Lagrange
Pitching has become the strength of the Yankees farm system, and while Elmer Rodríguez is the most MLB-ready arm among their top prospect group, the highest ceiling belongs to Lagrange. The 6'7" right-hander had a 3.53 ERA and 168 strikeouts in 120 innings while reaching Double-A last year, and he trimmed his walk rate from 20.0 to 12.3 percent.
19. San Francisco Giants
12 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 29
Top 10 Prospects
1. 1B Bryce Eldridge (Tier 1)
2. SS Josuar Gonzalez (Tier 2)
3. SS Jhonny Level (Tier 4)
4. OF Bo Davidson (Tier 4)
5. 2B Gavin Kilen (Tier 4)
6. SS Luis Hernández (Tier 4)
7. LHP Jacob Bresnahan (Tier 4)
8. OF Dakota Jordan
9. OF Trevor Cohen
10. RHP Keyner Martinez
Prospect Snapshot: 1B Bryce Eldridge
Eldridge went 9-for-40 with 19 strikeouts during spring training, and the Giants opted to send him back to Triple-A after it looked like he had a clear path to the starting DH role. With huge 70-grade raw power, he still has the highest ceiling in the Giants system, but he enters 2026 with something to prove in the hit tool department.
18. Chicago White Sox
13 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 3
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Caleb Bonemer (Tier 2)
2. LHP Noah Schultz (Tier 3)
3. OF Braden Montgomery (Tier 3)
4. SS Billy Carlson (Tier 3)
5. LHP Hagen Smith (Tier 3)
6. RHP Tanner McDougal (Tier 4)
7. 2B Sam Antonacci (Tier 4)
8. OF Jaden Fauske
9. LHP Christian Oppor
10. SS Kyle Lodise
Prospect Snapshot: OF Braden Montgomery
The White Sox received four prospects in the deal that sent Garrett Crochet to the Red Sox, and Montgomery is the only one that has yet to reach the majors. The No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 draft racked up 50 extra-base hits in 121 games last year while reaching Double-A, and the everyday right field job and a spot in the middle of the lineup awaits before 2026 is over.
17. Toronto Blue Jays
14 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 28
Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Trey Yesavage (Tier 1)
2. SS JoJo Parker (Tier 2)
3. SS Arjun Nimmala (Tier 3)
4. LHP Johnny King (Tier 3)
5. RHP Gage Stanifer (Tier 4)
6. LHP Ricky Tiedemann (Tier 4)
7. 3B Juan Sanchez (Tier 4)
8. OF RJ Schreck
9. RHP Jake Bloss
10. OF Jake Cook
Prospect Snapshot: LHP Johnny King
King was just added to our Top 100 list to account for Parker Messick eclipsing the 50-inning threshold on Monday, and he put himself on the top prospect map with 105 strikeouts in 61.2 innings in his age-18 campaign. The 6'3" lefty has some effort in his delivery, but he is also a quality athlete who could take another step forward with more polished mechanics.
16. Philadelphia Phillies
15 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 15
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Aidan Miller (Tier 1)
2. RHP Andrew Painter (Tier 1)
3. OF Justin Crawford (Tier 3)
4. 2B Aroon Escobar (Tier 4)
5. RHP Gage Wood (Tier 4)
6. OF Dante Nori (Tier 4)
7. OF Francisco Renteria (Tier 4)
8. OF Gabriel Rincones Jr.
9. LHP Cade Obermueller
10. RHP Ramon Marquez
Prospect Snapshot: OF Francisco Renteria
The Phillies gave Renteria a massive $4 million bonus as one of the headliners of the 2026 international class, and he offers true five-tool potential as he grows into his 6'3", 216-pound frame. He hasn't played a single game yet, but the toolbox says he's a future Top 100 prospect with star-caliber upside.
15. Athletics
16 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 16
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Leo De Vries (Tier 1)
2. LHP Gage Jump (Tier 2)
3. LHP Jamie Arnold (Tier 2)
4. SS Johenssy Colome (Tier 4)
5. LHP Wei-En Lin (Tier 4)
6. OF Henry Bolte (Tier 4)
7. RHP Braden Nett (Tier 4)
8. SS Edgar Montero
9. OF Devin Taylor
10. 3B Tommy White
Prospect Snapshot: SS Leo De Vries
After hitting .426/.460/.723 with seven extra-base hits and 12 RBI in 50 plate appearances this spring, De Vries might be closer to the big leagues than expected entering his age-19 season. He was the No. 1 prospect in the 2024 international class and the centerpiece of the Mason Miller trade with the Padres, and all signs point to him living up to the hype.
14. New York Mets
17 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 14
Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Carson Benge (Tier 1)
2. RHP Jonah Tong (Tier 2)
3. OF A.J. Ewing (Tier 3)
4. 3B Jacob Reimer (Tier 3)
5. 1B Ryan Clifford (Tier 4)
6. SS Elian Peña (Tier 4)
7. RHP Jack Wenninger (Tier 4)
8. 2B/SS Mitch Voit
9. LHP Jonathan Santucci
10. RHP Will Watson
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Jack Wenninger
Buried under breakout seasons from Nolan McLean and Jonah Tong in the Mets system, Wenninger quietly went 12-6 with a 2.92 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 147 strikeouts in 135.2 innings at Double-A last year. His profile is more floor than ceiling, but a swing-and-miss splitter gives him a bit more upside than the usual back-end starter.
13. Washington Nationals
18 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 25
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Eli Willits (Tier 1)
2. C Harry Ford (Tier 3)
3. RHP Jarlin Susana (Tier 3)
4. RHP Travis Sykora (Tier 3)
5. SS Gavin Fien (Tier 4)
6. RHP Luis Perales (Tier 4)
7. SS Seaver King (Tier 4)
8. LHP Alex Clemmey (Tier 4)
9. SS Devin Fitz-Gerald
10. RHP Landon Harmon
Prospect Snapshot: C Harry Ford
Props to the Nationals front office for turning lefty reliever José A. Ferrer into a legitimate catcher of the future in Ford, who was hopelessly blocked by Cal Raleigh in Seattle. The 23-year-old has a .404 on-base percentage and .830 OPS over 2,122 plate appearances in the minors, and while his defensive game is still developing, he's a plus athlete for the position.
12. Minnesota Twins
19 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 11
Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Walker Jenkins (Tier 1)
2. OF Emmanuel Rodríguez (Tier 3)
3. SS Kaelen Culpepper (Tier 3)
4. C Eduardo Tait (Tier 3)
5. LHP Connor Prielipp (Tier 4)
6. LHP Dasan Hill (Tier 4)
7. SS Marek Houston (Tier 4)
8. RHP Charlee Soto (Tier 4)
9. LHP Kendry Rojas
10. OF Gabriel Gonzalez
Prospect Snapshot: SS Marek Houston
A light-hitting, glove-first shortstop when he first arrived at Wake Forest, Houston developed into one of the nation's top middle infielders last spring, hitting .354/.458/.597 with 15 home runs and 66 RBI in 61 games. His bat will determine his long-term ceiling, but his glove gives him a high floor and the pieces are there for him to be an everyday shortstop in the majors.
11. Tampa Bay Rays
20 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 4
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Carson Williams (Tier 3)
2. OF Theo Gillen (Tier 3)
3. RHP Brody Hopkins (Tier 3)
4. OF Jacob Melton (Tier 3)
5. SS Daniel Pierce (Tier 4)
6. RHP Michael Forret (Tier 4)
7. RHP T.J. Nichols (Tier 4)
8. OF Slater de Brun (Tier 4)
9. RHP Anderson Brito (Tier 4)
10. RHP Santiago Suarez (Tier 4)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Michael Forret
Forret was the highest-ranked prospect the Rays acquired in the blockbuster deal that sent Shane Baz to the Orioles, and with a polished three-pitch repertoire and deceptive mechanics, he has the upside to emerge as the top arm in the Tampa Bay system. The 21-year-old has yet to surpass 100 innings in a pro season, so durability is the biggest box left to check in his developmental arc.
10. Cincinnati Reds
21 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 13
Top 10 Prospects
1. 1B Sal Stewart (Tier 1)
2. C Alfredo Duno (Tier 2)
3. RHP Rhett Lowder (Tier 3)
4. SS Tyson Lewis (Tier 3)
5. SS Steele Hall (Tier 4)
6. 1B Cam Collier (Tier 4)
7. OF Héctor Rodriguez (Tier 4)
8. SS Edwin Arroyo (Tier 4)
9. RHP Chase Petty
10. RHP Aaron Watson
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Aaron Watson
Watson is the only high school pitcher the Reds have taken in the first two rounds of the draft other than Hunter Greene since 2018, as they went above-slot to sign him to a $2.75 million bonus last year. He has significant projection left in his 6'5", 205-pound frame, good pitchability and impact upside if his stuff ticks up with more strength. Don't be surprised if he's the club's top pitching prospect at this time next year.
9. Boston Red Sox
22 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 5
Top 10 Prospects
1. LHP Payton Tolle (Tier 1)
2. SS Franklin Arias (Tier 2)
3. LHP Connelly Early (Tier 2)
4. RHP Kyson Witherspoon (Tier 3)
5. OF Justin Gonzales (Tier 3)
6. RHP Juan Valera (Tier 4)
7. SS Dorian Soto (Tier 4)
8. LHP Jake Bennett
9. RHP Marcus Phillips
10. RHP Anthony Eyanson
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Kyson Witherspoon
The Red Sox took college players with 19 of their 20 picks in the 2025 draft, and Witherspoon was the headliner at No. 15 overall. The athletic 6'2" right-hander had a 2.65 ERA and 124 strikeouts in 95 innings last spring at the University of Oklahoma, and he should move quickly through the minors with an electric five-pitch arsenal and clean mechanics.
8. Miami Marlins
23 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 19
Top 10 Prospects
1. LHP Thomas White (Tier 1)
2. LHP Robby Snelling (Tier 2)
3. OF Owen Caissie (Tier 2)
4. C Joe Mack (Tier 3)
5. SS Aiva Arquette (Tier 3)
6. RHP Kevin Defrank (Tier 4)
7. OF Dillon Lewis (Tier 4)
8. OF Cam Cannarella
9. OF Kemp Alderman
10. SS Starlyn Caba
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Kevin Defrank
With a 3.19 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 31 innings over 10 starts in the Dominican Summer League, Defrank had arguably the best pro debut of any pitcher from the 2025 international class. The Marlins signed him for just $560,000, and with a highly projectable 6'5", 202-pound frame and a fastball that is already touching triple digits, he stacks up to any teenage pitching prospect in terms of upside.
7. Cleveland Guardians
24 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 6
Top 10 Prospects
1. 2B Travis Bazzana (Tier 1)
2. OF Chase DeLauter (Tier 2)
3. 1B Ralphy Velazquez (Tier 2)
4. SS Angel Genao (Tier 3)
5. RHP Braylon Doughty (Tier 4)
6. RHP Khal Stephen (Tier 4)
7. C Cooper Ingle (Tier 4)
8. OF Jace LaViolette (Tier 4)
9. RHP Joey Oakie
10. OF Jaison Chourio
Prospect Snapshot: OF Jace LaViolette
LaViolette entered last spring as the favorite to go No. 1 overall in the 2025 draft after a huge sophomore season, but he ended up slipping to No. 27 after hitting .258/.427/.576 with 18 home runs and a 25.2 percent strikeout rate. With his power ceiling and on-base ability, he has a chance to be an impact player even with significant swing-and-miss, and he could put together a loud debut in the lower minors.
6. Detroit Tigers
25 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 2
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS/3B Kevin McGonigle (Tier 1)
2. OF Max Clark (Tier 1)
3. SS Bryce Rainer (Tier 2)
4. C/1B Josue Briceño (Tier 2)
5. OF Cris Rodriguez (Tier 4)
6. 2B/3B Max Anderson (Tier 4)
7. IF Hao-Yu Lee (Tier 4)
8. SS Jordan Yost
9. LHP Andrew Sears
10. C Thayron Liranzo
Prospect Snapshot: 2B Max Anderson
A limited defensive profile has kept Anderson from getting much top prospect love, but he can flat-out rake. The Nebraska product had an .828 OPS with 31 doubles, 19 home runs and 88 RBI in 122 games between Double-A and Triple-A last year, then popped off a .447/.609/.809 line over 14 games in the Arizona Fall League. He could be the replacement for Gleyber Torres at second base if he walks next winter.
5. Pittsburgh Pirates
26 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 20
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Konnor Griffin (Tier 1)
2. RHP Bubba Chandler (Tier 1)
3. RHP Seth Hernandez (Tier 2)
4. OF Edward Florentino (Tier 3)
5. LHP Hunter Barco (Tier 4)
6. OF Jhostynxon García (Tier 4)
7. 2B Termarr Johnson (Tier 4)
8. RHP Antwone Kelly (Tier 4)
9. C/1B Rafael Flores Jr.
10. SS Wyatt Sanford
Prospect Snapshot: 2B Termarr Johnson
Johnson was billed as having one of the best pure hit tools of any prep hitter in recent memory when the Pirates took him No. 4 overall in the 2022 draft. A .248 career average over 375 games in the minors has left him looking like a bust, but he's still only 21 years old and hit .272/.363/.382 in 119 games at Double-A last year. Can a 21-year-old be a late-bloomer?
4. St. Louis Cardinals
27 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 12
Top 10 Prospects
1. 2B JJ Wetherholt (Tier 1)
2. LHP Liam Doyle (Tier 2)
3. C Rainiel Rodriguez (Tier 2)
4. OF Joshua Báez (Tier 3)
5. RHP Jurrangelo Cijntje (Tier 3)
6. LHP Quinn Mathews (Tier 4)
7. LHP Brandon Clarke (Tier 4)
8. C Jimmy Crooks (Tier 4)
9. C Leo Bernal (Tier 4)
10. LHP Ixan Henderson
Prospect Snapshot: OF Joshua Báez
Báez was a second-round pick in 2021, but struggled to break through at the plate during his first three full seasons in the St. Louis system. The 22-year-old turned a major corner last season, hitting .287/.384/.500 with 23 doubles, 20 home runs, 79 RBI and 54 steals in 117 games between High-A and Double-A. Now he looks like a five-tool prospect with 30/30 upside.
3. Los Angeles Dodgers
28 of 30
2025 Opening Day Rank: 10
Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Josue De Paula (Tier 1)
2. OF Eduardo Quintero (Tier 2)
3. OF Zyhir Hope (Tier 2)
4. OF Mike Sirota (Tier 2)
5. SS Emil Morales (Tier 3)
6. IF Alex Freeland (Tier 4)
7. LHP Jackson Ferris (Tier 4)
8. OF Charles Davalan (Tier 4)
9. LHP Zach Root
10. RHP Christian Zazueta
Prospect Snapshot: OF Eduardo Quintero
For all the attention given to Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope, it's not out of the question to think Quintero might end up being the best of the Dodgers impressive collection of young outfield talent. He hit .293/.415/.508 with 22 doubles, 19 home runs and 47 steals in 113 games between Single-A and High-A as a teenager last year, and his 88 walks ranked in the top 15 among all prospects.

Prospect Snapshot: SS Colt Emerson
How much faith do the Mariners have in Emerson developing into a star? The 20-year-old was just signed to an eight-year, $95 million extension, setting a new high mark for the largest deal ever given to a player who has yet to make his MLB debut. His 65-grade hit tool is one of the best in the minors, and his ability to barrel the ball will naturally lead to power production, as he slugged 16 home runs in 130 games last year.

Prospect Snapshot: SS Jesús Made and IF Luis Peña
It takes more than just one or two prospects breaking out for a team to climb from No. 18 at this time a year ago to No. 1 in these rankings, but Made and Peña are the biggest reason for the rapid ascent. Both signed for less than $1 million as part of the 2024 international class, and both more than held their own against much older competition in 2025. Made has a 60-hit, 60-power profile and legitimate superstar upside, while Peña has a dynamic 55-hit, 55-power 70-speed toolbox and impact upside in his own right.
