Stephen Curry Injury Update Reveals Warriors Star's Expected Return Date Ahead of NBA Playoffs

Paul KasabianApr 3, 2026

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who hasn't played since Jan. 30 due to patellofemoral pain syndrome, is reportedly set to return on Sunday.

ESPN's Shams Charania and Anthony Slater reported Friday that Curry is expected to play for the Warriors during their upcoming home game against the Houston Rockets.

Curry recently took a major positive step toward a return, head coach Steve Kerr told reporters:

Curry also spoke to Slater about his progress.

Kerr previously said the team wanted Curry to return before the play-in tournament so he can have a "runway" of sorts.

"The way I would phrase it is we're not bringing him back for the Play-In game. He needs to play some games, and we need to give him a runway if this is going to work," Kerr said after he was asked whether the team still didn't have a drop-dead date for his return, per The Athletic's Nick Friedell. "And we are running out of games, that's fair to say."

The Warriors are already destined for the play-in tournament and would certainly love to have Curry, who has averaged 27.2 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game this season.
