The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned Bronny James, Dalton Knecht and Kobe Bufkin to their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, per Ryan Ward for Lakers on SI.

James has shuffled between the NBA and G League this year. All told, he's played in 34 NBA games and 19 G League contests. In fact, James has played for Los Angeles twice and South Bay once this week.

James and his father, LeBron James, became the first father-son duo to connect on an assisted basket Friday when Bronny hit a three-pointer in the second quarter of the Lakers' 116-99 home victory over the Brooklyn Nets.
