Tyran Stokes, SF, Ranier Beach

2 of 4
USA v Germany: Final - FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2025

Tyran Stokes will be an interesting player to follow for a couple of reasons. For one, the Ranier Beach (Seattle, WA) product is the nation's No. 1 recruit, according to 247Sports. Having previously played for Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, CA), the 6'7" forward has established himself as an elite prospect over the past couple of seasons.

"While he's built like a forward, he can make plays like a guard with an ability to create off the dribble and an innate understanding of how to instinctively find a path to the rim, even when one doesn't seem to initially present itself," Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports wrote.

Stokes will also be interesting to follow because he still hasn't picked his collegiate destination. According to ESPN's Jeff Borzello, Kansas appears to be the frontrunner for Stokes. Of course, plenty can change with collegiate coaching changes and NIL factoring into the recruitment process.

Having recently led Ranier Beach to a Class 3A state championship, Stokes won't have much to prove during Tuesday's game. However, his combination of size and skills should be on display nonetheless.

Jordan Smith Jr., CG, Paul VI Catholic

Bishop O'Connell High School vs St. Paul VI Catholic High School

Combo guard Jordan Smith Jr. is the No. 2 recruit in the country, and like Stokes, he figures to be a future NBA talent.

The Paul VI Catholic (Fairfax, VA) product is an intriguing 6'2", 200-pound prospect who can impact games in multiple ways on both ends of the court. This past season, he averaged 19.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1 block.

Smith committed to Arkansas and coach John Calipari in February, choosing the Razorbacks over Duke, Georgetown, Syracuse, Indiana, and Kentucky.

"I chose Arkansas because Coach Calipari can help improve my game," Smith said, per ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi. "Playing for him is a blessing; he has had great success with many guards in the past."

The Naismith Boys' High School Player of the Year will be up against Stokes on Tuesday as a member of the East Team.

Kate Harpring, PG, Marist School

United States v Australia - U19 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Final

Point guard Kate Harpring will be the player to watch in the girls game on Tuesday. The No. 1 ranked recruit in the country, Harpring has the potential to be both a star in the college ranks and the WNBA.

"Harpring had as steep of an ascent to the top of the national discussion as anyone in my 23 years of talent evaluation," Brandon Clay of 247Sports wrote. "After winning Overtime Select MVP in 2024, Harpring has kept her foot on the gas during the school season scoring 40 plus points on multiple occasions while averaging 32 on the season so far."

Having just led Marist Academy (Atlanta, GA) to a second-straight 4A State Title, Harpring was also named the Naismith Girls' High School Player of the Year.

The 5'10" prospect has committed to North Carolina and will lead the East Team in Tuesday's girls game.
